Taiwanese Waves, the groundbreaking concert series that delivers the finest Taiwanese music to New York, returns to SummerStage on July 7th, 2018. Boasting the largest single night attendance in SummerStage’s 30-year history (4500), Taiwanese Waves is set to touchdown once again at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park with performers Elephant Gym, Shen-Xiang & Band, and Soft Lipa.
This year’s lineup includes Elephant Gym, a math rock band that recently signed a US distribution deal with Topself Records; multi-Golden Melody Award winner, Hakka band Sheng-Xiang & Band; and Soft Lipa, a standout pioneer of Taiwan’s burgeoning Hip-Hop movement.
Central Park’s SummerStage is the largest free music festival in New York City. Since its inception, SummerStage has been New York’s largest focal point for showcasing world-class music. Taiwanese Waves is thrilled to return to SummerStage and welcomes all to attend this celebration of Taiwan on the world stage.
