Pixilerations is a new media festival in Providence, Rhode Island that investigates the state of new media arts through installations, performances and film/video screenings. It is part of the larger FirstWorks Festival, a multidimensional performing arts festival in Providence each fall. Pixilerations is produced by FirstWorks in collaboration with the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Brown University, and the City of Providence's Department of Art, Culture + Tourism. Now in its ninth year, Pixilerations is one of the foremost venues for new media artwork in New England. In 2010, for the first time, Taiwanese artist Dar-Kuen Wu was invited to join the festival and exhibit the work MI LOU TAIPEI. It was a joint effort between Taipei Cultural Center and the organizer of Pixilerations. Then, in 2011, two Taiwanese artists Chun-Chiang Niu and Yi-Chun Chen were invited to present their works DISTORTION and LIGHT CALLIGRAPHY in Pixilerations. In 2012 the TPECC will continue to cooperate with Pixilerations, selecting two Taiwanese artists to participate.
