Ruey-Shiann Shyu’ s Lecture at New New Yorkers Program / Queens Museum of Art
Saturday, May 11, 2013 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Ruey-Shiann Shyu lives and works in New York City. His work uses mechanical power as a means of expression, and he combines precision technology and aesthetics to create works that are delicate and visually simple. Any single piece may be composed of a single component or hundreds of them. He utilizes rhythms to tell stories from his native Taiwan with a poetic approach, in order to explore the meaning of life.

Art Hackers; A Lecture Series
21st century art is largely characterized by artists redefining their practices, and turning to the public for inspiration. Out of this context many disciplines have intermingled including the Do It Yourself Movement, or DYI. This lecture series aims to familiarize the community with some of these contemporary trends, and most importantly, with the artists themselves.
Come to this lecture series and meet these artists, and learn about their work.
