2017 NTSO International Youth Orchestra Camp – Call for auditions

The International Youth Orchestra Camp presented by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (hereafter referred to as the NTSO) offers an invigorating environment for outstanding young musicians to take lessons from professional musicians and most sought-after teachers, and to participate in the youth orchestra for performances in major concert halls. All faculty members are renowned musicians from the most elite conservatories and orchestras around the world. Students will have opportunities for private one-on-one instructions, orchestral training, as well as participating in public master classes during the camp.

For the 2017 NTSO International Youth Orchestra Camp, NTSO has invited a number of professional musicians to come and share their skills and experiences with the students. Mei-Ann Chen, a Top 30 Influencer in 2015 voted by Musical America’s editors, will serve as the Artistic Director and Conductor, and the violinist Keng-Yuen Tseng, the silver medal winner of Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition 1993, will join the camp as a soloist. In addition, violist Li-Kuo Chang, cellist Nan-Cheng Chen and Yu-Quan Wang, the Principal Horn of VEREINIGTE BÜHNEN WIEN, etc., are all faculty members as well.

Advanced musical training is a prerequisite. Applicants born between 1994 and 2003 including foreign nationals and oversea Taiwanese students may apply. Audition process takes place live in person (in Taiwan) or via DVD video. All applicants will be notified of the audition result after the audition process is complete.

DEADLINE Applications are due by March 22nd, 2017.
NOTIFICATION Applicants will be notified of the decision by May 15th, 2017.
PROGRAM 2017 NTSO International Youth Orchestra Camp will take place from July 10th – 21st, 2017.
