OneBeat 2017 (USA) – Call for applications

This call is open to to musicians between the ages of 19-35 years who live and work in any of the following countries: Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burma, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Panama, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Philippines, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, Slovak Republic, South Africa, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, United States, Venezuela, Zimbabwe.
OneBeat Fellows must apply individually and will be selected as individuals. However, several members of a group are welcome to apply separately.
Musicians from any genre or background are encouraged to apply. The organisers are looking for musicians who have achieved an advanced proficiency in styles and skills such as (but not limited to): folk music, hip hop, electronic music, traditional music, jazz, experimental, classical, sound-art installations, DJing, audio engineering, etc.
All costs will be covered for OneBeat Fellows, including travel and accommodations. Fellows will also receive a per diem and a modest honorarium.
OneBeat is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, & produced by Bang on a Can’s Found Sound Nation.

DEADLINE Applications are due by 5:00pm (Eastern Standard Time, USA) Feb 10, 2017.
NOTIFICATION Applicants will be notified of the review panel decision by May 30, 2017.
PROGRAM OneBeat 2017 will take place from Sep 20 – Oct 22, 2017.
