Taiwan Academy in New York is pleased to host a lecture, entitled “21st Century Dance in Taiwan “, on October 2015. We invite Wang, Ru-Ping , assistant professor of University of Taipei, a dancer, and a long- time dance educator, to share with you the development of contemporary dance in Taiwan. Through video and demonstration by 10 talented young dancers, you will get a better understanding of the dance scene in the homeland of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, dancers and choreographers, such as Feng-Yi Shue, Horses and Huang-Yi.

Wang, Ru-Ping
Ruping Wang, a full-time Assistant Professor at the University of Taipei. Wang is born and raised in Taiwan. She performed with such companies as the Limon Dance Company, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, Mary Anthony Dance Theatre, Repertory Dance Company, Crossover Dance Company, Chamber Ballet Taipei, and Taipei Folk Dance Theatre… etc. Besides performing, Wang reflects her dancing and life by choreographing and writing about dances and at times writes for the Performing Arts Review magazine.
